Death Valley Accommodations

FURNACE CREEK INN

The historic, luxurious Furnace Creek Inn will be the center of our wedding activities. We are taking over the entire Inn for the weekend so we can be surrounded by our family and friends.

  • Built in the late 1920's and early 1930's, the 4-diamond Inn is true desert elegance, filled with Death Valley history.
  • The Inn has over sixty beautifully appointed rooms with lots of amenities. Most rooms have terraces or balconies, and some have spa tubs.
  • The Inn grounds include a gorgeous spring-fed pool, oasis garden, massage therapy and tennis courts.
  • The Inn Dining Room offers truly fine cuisine (and for the brave, some Southwestern treats like fried cactus and rattlesnake empanadas).
  • The Inn Bar has a cozy indoor lounge and an outdoor terrace with fantastic views of the valley and the Panamint Mountains (and some fantastic cocktails).
Reservation Details
Because we're taking over the whole Inn, every room is available for only $205/night (two night minimum), a significant discount of up to 45% off of standard rates.

Please book your rooms via the reservation phone listed below.

Make sure to tell them you are part of Booking #1480, the Dorgelo-Lindsay wedding, otherwise they will tell you that the Inn is booked! Also, please be aware that the Inn's website will say that the weekend of the 9th and 10th is totally booked even though there are still rooms available to our guests, because we've closed the Inn to the general public.

OTHER ACCOMODATIONS

If all of our rooms at the Inn are booked, there are a few other options in Death Valley. Here are details.
  • Furnace Creek Ranch: The 224 room, motel-style ranch is a couple miles down the road from the Inn, in the heart of Furnace Creek. The golf course, saloon, 3 restaurants and general store are nearby. We also have a special rate at the ranch of $99/night. You can reserve rooms at the Ranch at the same contact information listed for the Inn, above. Make sure to tell them you are part of Booking #6605, the Dorgelo-Lindsay wedding, otherwise they won't give you our rate at the Ranch!
  • Stovepipe Wells: The motel in Stovepipe Wells is about 30 minutes northwest of Furnace Creek. (760) 786-2387
  • Panamint Springs: The motel in Panamint Springs is about 60 minutes northwest of Furnace Creek in the Panamint Valley (still inside Death Valley National Park) (775) 482-7680

CAMPING

Camping is always a great alternative at Death Valley. We know several of our friends and family plan to camp in the valley during the week before the wedding, then come up to the Inn on Friday and Saturday. Here are the campgrounds we recommend:
  • Texas Spring Campground: In walking distance of the Inn, nestled in the hills below the Funeral Mountains, Texas Springs is a Dorgelo family favorite. Located at sea level, Texas Spring has 92 sites with water, tables, fireplaces, flush toilets, and dump station. Texas Spring is first come, first served with self registration, and the fee is $12.00 per night. No generators allowed.
  • Furnace Creek Campground: In the heart of Furnace Creek, right by the vistor center and golf course, Furnace Creek Campground is located 196 feet below sea level and has 136 sites with water, tables, fireplaces, flush toilets, and dump station. Furnace Creek is $16 per night during the winter season, and reservations came be made online or by phone at 1-800-365-CAMP.
  • Mesquite Spring Campground: Located at 1,800 feet, 3 miles from Scotty's Castle, Mesquite Spring has 30 sites with water, tables, fireplaces, flush toilets, and a dump station. The fee is $10 a night, first come, first served.
